Boo! Halloween Dogs by Roger Priddy

IT'S HALLOWEEN.

LOOK, EVERYONE!

HAUNTED HAUNTS, NOSEY PUPS.

AND SPOOKY DOGGY FUN.

Nothing is more fun than a cute puppy, unless it's a cute pooch in a fuzzy, touchable costume, all set for Halloween.

Roger Priddy's little touchy-feely board book is full of costumed canines of various breeds, all set for a holiday party. Magic Max leads the way through pages with plush-y, velvety, furry, and fuzzy dogs to touch, rub, and feel in a light-hearted design that alternates spot art on bright white backgrounds opposite full bleed pages in which the bright objects pop against their dark backgrounds. Alternating with double-page spreads with text stretched across both sides, brief verses keeps the story moving through the sturdy pages.

Halloween Dogs (St. Martin's Press, 2011) offers Halloween howls for very young fans of dogs and holidays. As the cover proclaims, it's "the paw-fect gift for Howl-lo-ween."
