Santa's Helper: Peppa Pig and the Lost Christmas List

"DADDY, WHY DOES SANTA COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY?"

"GOOD QUESTION, PEPPA. YOU SHOULD ASK HIM. BUT SANTA WON'T COME UNLESS YOU'RE ASLEEP."

Daddy is satisfied that he's left with Peppa with an insoluble dilemma.

But Peppa Pig is not a girl to be so easily put off. She and her little brother George plot to stay awake on Christmas Eve and put that pertinent question to Santa Claus himself.

Although the two finally fall asleep, they pop awake when a sudden THUMP! is heard on the roof. Santa teeters across the roof to the chimney and squirms to squeeze down, but as he does, a piece of paper tucked into the top of his pack sails away in the wind.

And when he wiggles out of the chimney into the living room, Peppa and George are right there, full of questions.

"SANTA, HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT PRESENTS TO BRING?" ASKS PEPPA.

"WELL, I HAVE A LIST RIGHT HERE.

OH!! I'VE LOST IT!"

But Peppa is a pig who is always prepared. And it just so happens that she's got her copy of the list handy.

Everyone gets whatever they want, except Peppa, who is so excited she forgets to get the answer to her chimney question, in Peppa Pig and the Lost Christmas List (Candlewick Press, 2014). It's every kid's Christmas dream to stay up late enough to spy on that visit from St. Nicholas and in this Peppa adventure she gets her turn. Pair this one with Rosemary Well's classic Christmas tale of catching Santa at his work, Max's Christmas (Max and Ruby)
