Baby Boos! The Cheerios Halloween Play Book by Lee Wade

Disclaimer! The various Cheerios Play Books ARE examples of "shameless commerce." They are branded by the very nature of their titles. That's the bad news! The good news is that the product touted IS a nutritious whole grain finger food, widely available in inexpensive store brands, and more importantly, the books fascinate babies and offer real learning opportunities in a almost indestructible format.

Lee Wade's The Cheerios Halloween Play Book offers familiar fall holiday symbols--black cats with glasses, buttons on costumes, ghosts with wide, rounds mouths, saying bOO, witches with round buckles on their tall hats, and, of course, lots of pumpkins. The book even offers an opportunity for toddlers to begin to learn the sound of the letter O as they place the cereal in the O's in BOO, Trick Or Treat, and Have a Happy HallOween.

Shameless commerce aside, this little board book offer opportunities for little ones from six months of age and older to practice sensory, fine motor, cognitive, and verbal skills. They are sturdy enough to last through two or more average kids, and they offer a chance to interact personally with the book format at a very young age. They even offer an opportunity for little ones to become accustomed to some of the characters they may see at their front doors on Halloween night.
