Feeding Free-For-All! Biscuit Feeds the Pets by Alyssa Satin Carucilli
"HERE, BISCUIT!WE'RE GOING TO FEED THE PETS!"
WE'RE GOING TO HELP MRS. GRAY TODAY.
With a WOOF! Biscuit is on the job. First there is fish food to shake out into the goldfish bowl. Just as the kittens are getting a big bowl of milk, the girl notices Biscuit looking into a box that is already full of baby puppies.
"OH, YOU DISCOVERED THE NEW PUPPIES!"
And just as the girl goes with Mrs. Gray, carrying a bowl of crispy greens for the hamsters to nibble in their habitat, Biscuit turns the puppy box over and all the pups toddle out. There are yips and yaps and puppies and kittens pouncing and chasing all over the room.
And then Biscuit and a puppy jump up on the kitties' playhouse and turn it over, right on top of the puppies' water bowl with a splash, spilling the bag of puppy chow all over the floor!
MEOW! YIP! WOOF! It's wild pet-feeding party!
Biscuit certainly knows how to expedite pet feeding, in Alyssa Satin Carucilli's Biscuit Feeds the Pets (My First I Can Read) (Harper). Artist Pat Schories' cute and comic illustrations don't miss a single bit of this messy milieu, but thankfully drops the curtain on the action with giggles with Mrs. Gray before the big clean-up scene that must follow this pet feeding story for emergent readers. It's plentitude of pets in this story about the beloved Biscuit.
