De Aguas Frescas a Las Zarzamoras: Vamos! Let's Go Eat! by Raul the Third
"LITTLE LOBO! AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR YOU FROM EL TORO!"
Little Lobo has a new pedal-powered food cart and is ready to make fast deliveries. And just in time!
Little Lobo has a message from the famous wrestler El Toro, getting ready for the big luchador contest at El Coliseo, the Coliseum. It seems like everyone else in town is making his way there, too, especially all the food trucks with their different delicious dishes! Inside the huge building El Toro is busy warming up with the other competitors--Lizarda, Armor Dillo, Jack-a-Lopez, Ay Chihuahua, and the rest.
Suddenly there is a loud RUMBLE!
"JUST IN TIME! WE KNEW WE COULD COUNT ON YOU, LITTLE LOBO!" EL TORO BELLOWED. "OUR BELLIES ARE HUNGRY!"
Little Lobo hurries back to the front of the Coliseo where all the food vendors are assembled in food trucks, wagons, pushcarts, pedal carts, ready to sell their wares. There is so much to choose! SALSAS, AVOCADOS, JICAMAS, TORTOS DE LIMON, BURRITOS, TAMALES, TACOS, CHURROS, POLLO CON ARROZ, TACOS, FLAUTAS, CARNITOAS, QUESADILLAS, DULCES, AGUAS FRESCAS, EVEN KIMCHI! So many choices!
Little Lobo loads his cart with some of everything, algo de todo, and pedals furiously back inside where the hungry lachadores are waiting for their luncheon. They cannot compete until they eat!
"AQUI' ESTA' LA COMIDA! "Here is the meal!"
Little Lobo's new delivery bike is a success, in Raul the Third's food fest, ¡Vamos! Let’s Go Eat (Spanish and English Edition) (Versify Press,, 2020). Done up in bright, tropical colors by artist Elaine Bay, the food is up front and festive enough itself to get everybody ready for a spot of lunch with the luchadores. And with its handy glossary at the back of this book, anyone can order con much gusto! "... distinctive -—and delicious," says Publishers Weekly, in their starred review.
Raul The Third was awarded the American Library Association's prestigious Pura Belpre' Award for his first book, ¡Vamos! Let's Go to the Market (Spanish and English Edition).
